Salem Campus Tuition and Fees, 2021-22

Tuition and lab fees are due before the first day of the semester unless other financial arrangements have been made in advance.

Financial Aid Opportunities

To receive a customized financial aid package and receive any financial aid for which you may qualify, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. SBU's recommended deadline for submitting the FAFSA is February 1 for the following academic year. Be sure to include the SBU school code (002502) to have your FAFSA sent to SBU.

Once you are admitted to SBU, you will receive an SBU email address and access to the MySBU Admitted Student Portal. You need to check your SBU email address often for important information, especially related to the online process for approving and finalizing your financial aid award.

Scholarships

SBU-Salem offers a number of private scholarships, including:

  • Dobbs Family Scholarships
  • Everett and Olive Land Memorial Scholarships
  • Jim and Duetta Edwards Scholarships
  • Richard Wilber Scholarships
  • Salem First Baptist Church Scholarships

Deadline for application of scholarships is March 31 of each year for the following academic year. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required. Scholarship recipients will be determined by the SBU-Salem Campus Scholarship Committee.

SBU also encourages you to apply for outside scholarships to enhance your financial aid package. These funds are awarded directly to you from sources outside of SBU (i.e. community foundations, workplace, private agencies, etc.)

Federal and State Aid

Eligibility for federal and state financial aid is determined by your FAFSA results. Examples include:

  • Federal PELL Grant
  • Access Missouri State Program
  • Student Loans

Military Benefits

SBU has been recognized as a military-friendly school and participates in tuition assistance opportunities for veterans and active-duty military members, and their dependents. A designated staff member is available to answer questions and help students utilize their educational benefits.

Textbooks

You may purchase textbooks for your courses beginning two weeks before the start of the term. Textbooks must be paid for when placing order and can be purchased online through the SBU Campus Store.

  • Class Schedules - You must meet with an advisor prior to enrolling. Call (573) 729-7071 to schedule an appointment. Enrollment continues through the first day of the semester. You are enrolled in class at the time of registration. You will be notified if there is a course cancellation. The University reserves the right to cancel any course if enrollment is insufficient. All tuition and fees will be refunded in the event of a canceled course.
